Paddy Power Adds New Features to Battle Gambling Addiction

In the wake of the recent crackdown on online gambling companies, the famous UK PayPal casino and gambling platform Paddy Power announced their new responsible gambling tools.

Recently, the UK Gambling Commission, as well as some other authorities began a review of the UK’s gambling laws. They proposed some changes to further protect gamblers from the predatory practices of the online gambling operators. Even though those prepositions are just a part of a conversation, Paddy Power decided to take action.

Three new features

So, yesterday, they announced their new features to protect players from their addictive personalities. First, players will get to view their account history and check their deposits, previous bets, and so on. Second, Paddy Power users will be able to set deposit and loss limits on their profiles. Finally, all players will get an option to limit their daily, weekly, and monthly stakes.

Colin O’Gara, the head of addiction services at Saint John of God Hospital in Dublin, pointed out that this is a crucial step to stopping the gambling addiction.

O’Gara said, “Gamblers have a distorted view of how much they have bet and how much they have lost or won over time. So, any information that helps address that is to be welcomed.”

Even though it may not seem like much, this is an extremely positive thing for the gambling industry. Of course, we will see how effective these changes are in the upcoming months. However, regardless of the results, we hope that more operators will follow Paddy’s footsteps.
