Rank Group Charity Donations to Carers Trust Pass £2m Mark

In March this year, the Rank Group accomplished a significant milestone. In the first quarter of the year, the gambling organisation raised £1.5 million for the Essex-based charity, Carers Trust. However, the Rank Group didn’t stop there. This month, the group passed the £2 million mark for the Carers Trust charity.

The Rank Group has been in the industry since 1995. Over the years, they’ve established themselves as the owners of UK’s best PayPal casinos and bingo brands. After so much time in the industry, the Rank Group decided to give something back. Namely, Rank started their cooperation with Carers Trust in 2014. For the past four years, the employees of the gambling group partook in various fundraising challenges. These challenges included everything from karaoke and bake-offs to cycling and consuming critter cocktails.

Giles Meyer of Carers Trust warmly welcomed Rank Group’s initiative to raise funds for the organisation. “We are overwhelmed by the fundraising efforts of Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca Bingo. They have gone above and beyond once again, and we’re delighted to continue our partnership,” said Meyer.

In 2014, the Rank Group launched the Rank Cares Grants Programme. The company set up three different funds to help carers from around the country. The Essentials Fund allows carers to apply for a grant for household equipment such as freezers and washing machines. The Inspire to Be Fund teaches carers new skills. So, if a carer needs help with the carer role or they want to find a job, the programme helps them in both these situations. Lastly, the Take a Break Fund aims to provide carers with some time off since their role is time and effort-consuming.

“Carers Trust is an organisation that is close to the heart of many of our employees, and it gives me a great sense of pride to know that collectively we have been able to make such a strong contribution to the charity,” said John O’Reilly, Rank CEO.
